Public Area Attendant

RESPONSIBILITIES Clean Offices, lobby, and restrooms. Sweep carpets. Empty ashtrays and urns. Polish furniture and fixtures. Vacuum and polish elevators. Keep the front of the hotel free from trash to prevent insect breeding, limiting customers visiting and booking hotel rooms. Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom, and shampoo machine. Wipe the dust and polish metal surfaces. Clean and maintain all cleaning equipment daily. Assist Guests in Public Areas when required. Post caution signs as and when required. Ensure the highest level of customer service by anticipating and responding quickly to visitors' requests. Report all maintenance and repair issues to management. Ensure all areas of the hotel are secure and safe. Perform any other duties requested by Supervisor/ Management. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 1 year of experience as a Public Area Attendant or Janitorial Services in a Hotel or similar role. Able to lift and carry heavy objects such as furniture and luggage. Hands‑on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations. Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods. Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to follow instructions and procedures. EDUCATION High School degree, GED or Equivalent. LANGUAGE SKILLS Excellent verbal communication skills in English and Spanish Preferred (communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, associates, and external partners). Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
