Animal Specialty & Emergency Center of Brevard (ASEC) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency team in Melbourne, Florida. Working alongside experienced emergency clinicians and board-certified specialists, you'll play an essential role in stabilizing critical patients, supporting advanced diagnostics, and delivering compassionate care throughout every overnight shift.

Schedule

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming emergency patients and assist with patient stabilization.

• Perform patient assessments and monitor hospitalized emergency patients throughout the shift.

• Place and maintain intravenous catheters and administer medications and fluid therapy as directed.

• Collect laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostic testing.

• Assist with radiographs, diagnostic imaging, and emergency procedures.

• Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency surgeries and procedures as needed.

• Provide exceptional nursing care to hospitalized and critically ill patients.

• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.

• Collaborate closely with emergency veterinarians, specialists, and fellow technicians to provide seamless patient care.

• Deliver compassionate communication and support to clients during emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience, preferably in Emergency Medicine

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, or CVT) preferred

• Strong understanding of veterinary nursing, restraint, phlebotomy, anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, laboratory procedures, and patient monitoring

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced emergency environment

• Ability to remain calm under pressure while prioritizing patient care

• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required

• Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus
