Founding Fullstack Engineer (Kirkland)

Plutus is a fast growing company on a mission to democratize access to investing, seeking full-stack founding engineers. The role requires a passion for writing clean code, extreme ownership, and the ability to operate with a deep understanding of the tech stack.

Responsibilities

• Love the craft - You take pride in writing clean, maintainable code. You care about the details. Building software well matters to you
• Extreme ownership- we don't want to sell you on a big-tech type job. This is for you if you almost want to startup your own thing but are not there yet
• Have battle scars - 8+ years of experience including real on-call rotations and service maintenance. You've been paged at 3am and know what it takes to keep systems running
• Be deeply curious - You dive deep into unknowns. When you don't know something, you figure it out. You want to understand how things work, not just make them work
• Use AI effectively, but own the fundamentals - You leverage AI tools to move faster and be more productive, but you have deep knowledge of the entire stack. You can explain what the code does, debug when things break, and make architectural decisions without relying on AI to tell you what's right
• You will need some experience having built and operated hardened infra at scale. We think you’ll learn on the job but need engineers who can operate with an elevated baseline

Required

• 8+ years of experience including real on-call rotations and service maintenance
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code
• Experience building and operating hardened infrastructure at scale
• Deep knowledge of the entire stack
• Ability to leverage AI tools effectively while owning the fundamentals
• Curiosity and willingness to dive deep into unknowns
