Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Cashier/Checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging and assisting customers. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently. Understand the POS system and handle various tenders according to company policy. Adhere to company's cash handling limits and work to control loss. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs). Report pricing discrepancies. Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons. Stay current with ads and promotions. Adhere to food safety regulations. Reinforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions. Perform preventive maintenance and notify management of repairs. Create a welcoming environment for customers. Follow all laws and company guidelines. Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment. Manage conflict professionally. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business info. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
