Position Overview


Grays Harbor Community Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) to join its patient care team on a 13-week contract assignment. The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and supports Registered Nurses in delivering safe, high-quality care while promoting the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, mobility, and comfort.
• Provide direct patient care under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition.
• Support patient safety and maintain a clean, organized care environment.
• Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility using proper body mechanics.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Promote compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care at all times.
• Follow hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) certification.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
• Acute care or Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to safely transfer and reposition patients.
• Ability to push a loaded stretcher and perform frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and other physical activities required for patient care.
• Adequate vision and hearing to safely perform patient care responsibilities.

Assignment Details

• 13-week contract assignment
• Day shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Holiday coverage required
• Active Washington State certification required
• No on-call responsibilities
• One position available
• 1099 contractors are not accepted
