HVAC Refrigeration Technician

Job Summary:

The Refrigeration & HVAC (HVACR) Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of the refrigeration equipment while maintaining a high standard of service. The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair(s) of the commercial refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities:

* Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain refrigeration systems and equipment, including walk-in coolers, freezers, refrigerated display cases, ice machines, and HVACR systems
* Document all work performed including but not limited to services reports, work orders by internal software
* Respond to service calls in a timely manner
* Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating motors, and inspecting electrical components to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
* Test and calibrate refrigeration systems using specialized tools and equipment to verify proper operation and compliance with safety and performance standards
* Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to plan and execute refrigeration installations, upgrades, and retrofits

Skills and Qualifications:

* EPA Universal 608 Certification is a must
* 5 years previous (field) experience in similar role preferred
* Ability to work independently/ as a part of a team
* Adhere to safety protocols and procedures in accordance with industry regulations and company policies
* Valid driver’s license
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Keen attention to detail
* Documentation and reporting skills
* Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during shift
* Can lift up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
* Basic computer skills (electronic documentation)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position is performed in a fabrication shop environment and may require standing, bending, lifting, and operating machinery for extended periods.
