Job Summary:
The labor and delivery specialty nurse position is located in a healthcare facility in Fort Worth, Texas. This role involves providing specialized care in the labor and delivery unit, supporting obstetric patients through various procedures including cesarean sections and salpingectomies. The position offers a night shift schedule with a focus on high-risk obstetric care.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and current intermediate fetal monitoring skills. No minimum years of experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual ability, scrub technician skills.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Unit Information:
  • Location: 3101 North Tarrant Parkway, 2nd Floor, main building
  • Facility type: Labor & Delivery unit with 10 beds, including 2 OBED (Obstetric Emergency Department) beds
  • Staff: 24 bedside RNs
  • Staffing: Core team on day shift includes 3 RNs, 1 scrub technician, 1 unit secretary; night shift patient ratios are 2:1, high-risk cases 1:1 or 2:1 if stable
  • Equipment: EMR Centricity, Meditech
  • Typical procedures: Cesarean sections, bilateral salpingectomies
  • Dress code: Scrubs in royal blue
  • Weekend Requirements: Four weekend shifts per month
  • Floating area: Postpartum and medical floors (as a tech)
