Scientific Director, Medical Affairs - Migraine
AbbVie
Scientific Director leads medical affairs strategy and operations for migraine therapeutics, directing clinical evidence generation, healthcare provider engagement, medical education, and safety surveillance. Reports with oversight to contribute to brand strategies and collaborate across commercial and clinical development teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support medical affairs initiatives for migraine indication
- Develop and execute medical support for priority clinical development trials
- Design and execute medical education initiatives, advisory boards, and conferences
- Generate clinical and scientific data aligned with evidence gap assessments
- Review and approve promotional and advertising materials for regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, PA, or NP preferred)
- 5-7+ years pharmaceutical industry experience with therapeutic area knowledge
- Clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements expertise
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage stakeholder interactions and exercise independent judgment
- Experience coordinating with commercial, clinical, regulatory, and statistical teams
