Precision CNC Turning Specialist
Location: Paterson, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $28.00/hour, based on experience and skills
A day in this roleStart your shift at 8:00 AM in our Paterson shop, reviewing the day’s prints and priorities. You’ll set tools, dial in lengths and offsets, and bring a HAAS CNC lathe online. After cutting the first piece, you’ll run a first-article inspection to verify specs before moving into steady production. Throughout the day you’ll machine aluminum and stainless-steel parts, adjust wear offsets to maintain accuracy, and keep a close eye on quality. When needed, you’ll jump onto HAAS mills, and you’ll also have the chance to learn additional equipment, including Kiwa machines. You’ll wrap up by organizing your work area and documenting what’s next for a smooth handoff to the following day.
What you’ll do- Perform multiple CNC setups, setting tool lengths and adjusting geometry/wear offsets.
- Set up and operate HAAS CNC lathes and mills to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Conduct first-article inspections and verify parts meet specifications.
- Machine aluminum and stainless-steel materials with a focus on accuracy and finish.
- Make in-process adjustments to maintain quality and dimensional control.
- Expand skills by learning additional machine platforms, including Kiwa.
- Follow established safety and quality procedures at all times.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and ready for the next job.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience setting up and operating HAAS CNC lathes/mills (preferred).
- Background machining aluminum and stainless steel.
- Familiarity with Mastercam programming (preferred).
- Solid grasp of basic math and geometry for machining.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Reliable, accountable, and comfortable working independently.
- Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn.
Pay: $28.00/hour, based on experience and skills
