Dental AssistantVirginia Family Dentistry is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our Huguenot team! This opening is for an auxiliary "swing" dental assistant. Pay range is $17-$25/hour based on experience. Typical work hours are 8 am-5 pm Monday-Friday.Dental assistants support the entire team of doctors, hygienists, clinical and administrative staff while always keeping our patients' needs first. The assistant must have knowledge of dental procedures, x-ray certification, OSHA regulations and State Board requirements. Must be willing to work in and be part of the larger team and communicate effectively with doctors, employees, and patients.Essential Job FunctionsTake x-raysStock, organize, and disinfect operatoriesProvide chairside assistance to the dentists as neededEnsure instrument sterilization and proper infection control protocolReview the doctor's schedule daily, set up and prepare for patient appointments with needed supplies, lab cases, implants and other necessary itemsInput treatment plan given by the doctorKeep the schedule on time and communicate with the front deskEscort each patient to the front desk for check outMaintain a lab tracking system to ensure all lab work is ready for the patients' appointmentOrdering and unpacking suppliesCollaborate with the doctor scheduler on schedules and maintaining the unscheduled list by following up with the patients and needed treatmentHelp the hygienists and administrative staff as neededThis job description is not meant to cover or include all tasks, duties, or responsibilities.Job duties and responsibilities can change at any time with or without notice.Minimum Qualifications1 year or more of dental experienceX-ray certificationBLS certificationCompetenciesExcellent communication skillsTime managementConfidentialityAttention to detailTeamworkPhysical RequirementsUse hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
