Job Summary: As a Field Service Technician with SmartSource, your primary responsibility will be providing “top-notch” customer service with a strong focus on corporate meeting environments and tradeshows. Duties include product configuration, prep and testing, transportation of equipment, on-site installation of computer technology, networking, troubleshooting and technical support. Key Responsibilities: Primary: In-shop configuration, preparation and testing, transport for on-site installation, customer service, and troubleshooting of our computers, software, and related peripherals in corporate events environments and tradeshows. Secondary: In-shop configuration, preparation and testing, transport for on-site set up and operation of Audio and Video equipment including: microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, video screens, projectors, video switchers, large displays and related peripherals in tradeshow and corporate events environments. Qualifications: A strong IT background including computer, printer and copier configuration. Must be proficient in configuring, networking and troubleshooting computers, printers and related hardware. Must have a “can-do\" attitude, strong customer service focus, and effective communication and people interaction skills as this position interacts directly with our customers. Requires the ability to think and work independently, meet deadlines, and have extreme attention to detail. Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive company vehicles to area venues for client events . Must be able to drive a 16” box truck Requires loading/unloading of company vehicles. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. As our clients’ events are held seven days a week, this position is a full-time Monday through Friday schedule. Some overtime, weekends and overnight travel is required. A desire to continually improve performance and take service to the next level is vital. BONUS SKILLS : Proficiency at setting up and operating basic audio visual components, and the ability to troubleshoot and correct operational glitches.
