Cardiovascular Clinical Instructor - BS in Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography Company Description United Medical Institute (UMI) is a specialized career college offering hybrid AS and BS degree programs in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Cardiovascular Sonography. Accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), UMI has been educating future sonography professionals since 2006. Program UMI is expanding its clinical faculty with the launch of its new Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography (BS-DCS) Degree Completion Program and is seeking experienced echocardiography professionals to join our faculty team in California and Arizona. Role Description UMI is seeking experienced Echo sonographers interested in combining clinical practice with teaching and mentoring the next generation of cardiovascular sonographers. Clinical practicum takes place at UMI Teaching Partner Clinics and combines real-patient scanning with hands-on student instruction . Clinical instructors work directly with students in the patient-care environment, teaching and reinforcing echocardiographic scanning techniques, supervising examinations, assessing clinical competencies and student progress, and promoting professional and patient-care standards. Evening and Weekend Sessions Clinical practicum sessions are primarily scheduled during evenings and weekends , making this an excellent opportunity for practicing sonographers who would like to add teaching to their professional careers while continuing to work in the field. Part-time and adjunct opportunities are available with instructional assignments based on student enrollment, clinical scheduling, and institutional needs from term to term. Current Locations California: Greater Sacramento / Fair Oaks area Eligibility Requirements ARDMS (RDCS) and/or CCI cardiac credential Minimum 3 years of professional experience in cardiovascular sonography , with a strong background in adult echocardiography BS/BA degree in any field required for faculty appointment Associate degree holders who otherwise meet the professional qualifications may be considered for Instructor Associate positions and provided a tuition-supported pathway to complete UMI's BS-DMS or BS-DCS Degree Completion Program while working Prior teaching experience is welcome but not required .
