This role involves providing both routine and complex nursing care in a dynamic clinical environment, requiring an independent practice and a comprehensive understanding of various clinical situations.

Key Responsibilities of the RN - Labor and Delivery

• Practice nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocol and monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

Requirements of the RN - Labor and Delivery

• RN License in the state of TX or compact.
• Current certification in AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).
• Current NRP, ACLS (AHA only), and BLS (AHA only) certification required.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
