PRN Surgical Technologist

Overview Enjoy a predictable Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements in Azura's outpatient vascular centers. The setting provides a collaborative, patient-focused environment and a healthy work‑life balance. Responsibilities Prepare and inventory the procedure room, stock supplies and equipment. Maintain procedure room compliance with FMCNA/USV policies, state and federal regulations. Clean procedure room and equipment after each procedure. Assist with patient preparation: positioning, shaving, and pre‑procedure care. Prepare and administer medications within scope of practice and state regulations. Perform patient transfers, positioning, and transport to and from the procedure room. Act as scrub assistant during interventional procedures under fluoroscopy, maintaining sterile technique. Draw up intravenous medication and label labels per Medication Labeling Policy. Execute circulating duties in the procedure room. Comply with HIPAA policies regarding patient confidentiality. Maintain facility environmental integrity and aesthetics; ensure all equipment is functioning. Perform minor equipment repairs and general upkeep; communicate issues in the communications log. Assist with instrument sterilization and packaging of surgical instruments. Organize supplies to prevent wastage and support quality standards through Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). Maintain the integrity of medical records and operational documents. Provide clerical support to physicians and staff: print images, file paperwork, inventory order, and re‑stock supplies. Process and archive x‑ray images in compliance with USV policies. Participate in regulatory and accreditation surveys, addressing deficiencies. Market, educate, and promote Fresenius Vascular Care services to dialysis clinics, medical directors, nephrologists, and other members of the medical community. Support sales initiatives: identify potential accounts, conduct sales calls, research local markets, and maintain relationships with current users. Serve as customer‑relations contact and liaison between dialysis clinics, specialty clinics, and the FVC Center. Occasionally work evening and weekend hours as needed. Uphold the Code of Business Conduct, company policies, and all applicable laws and regulations. Assist with special projects assigned by the supervisor. Perform additional duties as assigned; focus may shift to specific departments or locations. Qualifications 1–2 years of related experience; previous patient‑care experience preferred. High school diploma required; Surgical Technologist Certification preferred. Working knowledge of interventional equipment (C-Arm, ultrasound), procedures, and required supplies. Knowledge of sterile techniques and universal precautions. Experience with specialties utilizing a C-Arm preferred. Proficiency with personal protective devices for radiology systems. Successful completion of BLS certification. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Desk and personal computer work with patient, staff, and physician interaction in a health‑care facility environment with controlled temperature and moderate noise. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; stand for 45–60 minutes in a protective apron; travel up to 50% within the assigned geography.
