Position Details Position Title: Limited-Term Instructor of BIOLOGY Posting Number: PTI00109P Position Type: Full Time Faculty Posting Type: Internal/External Department: Life & Earth Sciences College: Perimeter College Campus: College-wide Desired Start Date: 08/01/2023 Number of Vacancies: 4 Open Until Filled: Yes Position Description The selected candidate will be responsible for: Providing 18 semester hours of instruction per academic year. Maintaining at least 8 office hours per week. Working effectively, collaboratively, and professionally with faculty, staff, and students. Connecting students with institutional resources to promote student success and progression. Required Education A minimum of a master’s degree required in Biology or a minimum of a master’s degree with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter graduate hours in relevant coursework (completed by the anticipated date of appointment). Preferred Qualifications/Experience Teaching experience is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The ability to teach Biology courses at the college level. The ability to relate to a diverse student population and facilitate student learning. The ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods and modalities. The ability to incorporate evidence-based pedagogy and/or innovative instructional technology in the discipline. The ability to maintain appropriate records. Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and computer skills. Pre-Employment Requirements A Criminal History Check is Required. Work Hours Position may require non-standard hours (including day, evening, online, hybrid, weekend and/or other campus locations).
