Associate Solution Developer

The Associate Solution Developer works on Acxiom and third party software to create solutions for business problems defined by specific business requirements. Gains knowledge of and draws upon technical and data processing knowledge to solve marketing and data warehousing problems for our clients' solutions. In this role, an Associate Solution Developer may configure or tune Acxiom or third party software, work on automation processes to tie components together, develop custom application code to accommodate specific business requirements or collaborate with others to add extensions to existing Acxiom software. An Associate Solution Developer may also provide new development, ongoing maintenance, support and optimization of solutions for the account teams they are supporting.

In this role, an Associate Solution Developer may configure or tune Acxiom or third party software, work on automation processes to tie components together, develop custom application code to accommodate specific business requirements or collaborate with others to add extensions to existing Acxiom software. An Associate Solution Developer may also provide new development, ongoing maintenance, support and optimization of solutions for the account teams they are supporting. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Gains knowledge and applies that knowledge to be able to understand requirements in order to build, enhance, or integrate programs and processes for one or more Acxiom Client solutions and/or applications. Read and interprets application design and functional specifications to write application code. Skilled at consulting on functional requirements and participates in reviewing code in code review sessions. Utilizes Acxiom standard methodologies used in overall solution and data integrity. Understands Acxiom solution software and applies it to how to define solutions standards, policies and procedures. Identifies and diagnoses areas of maintenance, performance issues and process improvement. Uses relevant software language, develop/execute unit test cases and tests software applications that fulfill functional specifications using an IDE. Document and interpret test results and correct application coding errors Completes application development task for short duration (Level of Effort >20-40 hour task) programming requirements with limited assistance. Responsible for multiple small projects whiles also working on larger projects with more experienced developers to meet due dates and deadlines. Formal mentorship concluded. Increased complexity of assignments - augmentation and/or independent segment owner. Low complexity assignments. Ability to see whole picture PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Functional knowledge of Solution Development SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have direct reports but may mentor less experienced associates in the role. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and little to no years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience. No certification required 4-year college degree in relevant field of study or relevant work experience Language Syntax of at least 3 relevant software development languages Java VB .NET C# ASP.NET SQL / PL –SQL C / C++ Datastage Ab Initio Perl Shell Scripting XML HTML PHP/MySQL AWK/SED JavaScript Operating System Exposure in previous jobs or school is a nice-to-have Linux/Unix Commands Linux/Unix File Management Knowledge of Relational Database Principles; Oracle or other DBMS Application of industry standards, best practices in solutions Excellent communication skills, can communicate ideas clearly and effectively to other members of the development team Applicants for this position with Acxiom in the U.S. must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Acxiom (i.e., H-1B visa, F-1 visa [OPT], TN visa, or any other non-immigrant status).
