EXPERIENCED PARTS COUNTER SALES

The GM Parts Salesperson is responsible for selling General Motors automotive parts and accessories to wholesale customers, repair facilities, dealerships, body shops, and retail customers. This position focuses on providing excellent customer service, identifying the correct parts, developing customer relationships, and achieving sales and profitability goals. Key Responsibilities Sell GM Genuine Parts, ACDelco products, accessories, and related automotive components. Assist customers by phone, email, and in person with parts identification, pricing, availability, and ordering. Use GM parts catalogs and dealership management systems to accurately identify and locate parts. Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale accounts, body shops, independent repair facilities, fleets, and other customers. Prospect for new customers and identify opportunities to increase parts sales. Prepare quotes and follow up with customers to secure orders. Monitor backorders, special orders, and customer requests to ensure timely follow-up. Coordinate with parts warehouse, counter personnel, drivers, service departments, and management to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. Maintain knowledge of GM vehicles, current product offerings, supersessions, pricing programs, promotions, and warranties. Help customers find alternative solutions when requested parts are unavailable. Process orders, returns, credits, and warranty-related parts transactions accurately. Work to achieve monthly sales, gross-profit, and customer-retention objectives. Maintain accurate customer information and sales records. Provide professional, responsive service and resolve customer concerns promptly. Qualifications Previous automotive parts or dealership experience is preferred, particularly experience with GM parts and ACDelco products. Candidates should have strong customer-service and sales skills, automotive parts knowledge, good computer and cataloging skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with technicians, shops, dealerships, and retail customers. The successful candidate should be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and motivated to develop long-term customer relationships while growing sales and profitability.
