IT Operations Analyst II - Hybrid (26-25)

Description

Spok is seeking an IT Operations Analyst II to provide day-to-day technical support for end users and endpoints, while also contributing to security-focused IT operations including identity and access management, endpoint security, privileged access, and vulnerability remediation. 

This role is designed for someone with a strong foundation in technical support who wants to grow into a security-oriented IT career. Desktop and end-user support are a core part of the position, and from there you'll get hands-on exposure to identity and access reviews, endpoint security monitoring and remediation, privileged access workflows, vulnerability management, and incident investigation, working directly with enterprise-grade security tooling. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting and working directly with users, but is especially motivated by security.

  Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Support & Operations

> Provide technical support for Spok employees across Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365, authentication, and corporate applications

> Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot corporate Windows 11 endpoints

> Troubleshoot Cisco VPN and other secure remote-access technologies

> Process and resolve assigned Salesforce IT support cases based on business priority and service expectations

> Create and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and operational knowledge

Identity & Endpoint Administration

> Administer user accounts, computer accounts, security groups, licenses, and access within Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365

> Support employee onboarding, offboarding, and access changes in accordance with established security and least-privilege practices

> Support endpoint configuration, application deployment, patching, and device management through Microsoft Intune and related technologies

> Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasks using PowerShell and other administrative tools

Security & Access

> Monitor, investigate, and remediate endpoint and account security issues using enterprise-grade security tooling, escalating potential incidents as appropriate

> Support privileged access and secure administrative workflows within privilege management and privileged remote access toolsets

> Troubleshoot authentication and access issues, and assist with identity and access reviews involving MFA, IAM, and Conditional Access policies

> Participate in vulnerability remediation efforts across corporate endpoints and systems

> Support and participate in projects that implement and maintain security controls, including endpoint hardening, identity improvements, and access-control initiatives.

> Educate employees on secure computing practices across managed and BYOD devices

Required Education, Skills & Experience

> Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Information Security, or a related field, and 2-5 years of experience working in IT operations, systems administration, or a similar role. Or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 

> Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10/11 environments

> Experience troubleshooting endpoint, application, authentication, and user-access issues

> Familiarity with core information security concepts, including:

• Principle of Least Privilege and Role-Based Access Control
• Endpoint security, patch management, and vulnerability management

> Basic understanding of identity and access management concepts, including Multi-Factor Authentication and modern authentication practices

> Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Outlook and Teams

> Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, and remote connectivity

> Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills

> Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical employees

> Ability to independently research technical issues and learn new technologies

> Ability to balance end-user support responsibilities with project-based and security-focused operational work

Salary: $31.25 - $38.46 per hour (depending on experience)
