School Occupational Therapist Assistant

School Occupational Therapist Assistant supports occupational therapy services in a school setting, aiding students with functional development and academic success. The role collaborates with therapists, educators, and families to implement individualized interventions and track progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized therapy plans for students.
• Support students during therapy sessions, demonstrating activities and providing encouragement.
• Document student progress, record observations, and update electronic health records accurately.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to coordinate interventions and share progress reports.
• Maintain a safe and organized therapy environment, ensuring equipment is prepared and sanitized.

Qualifications:

• College Diploma A.A. or higher or transcripts (60 or more credits).
• Must obtain and maintain COTA license issued by Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy.
• 1 year of experience in occupational therapy assistance.
• Valid driver's license (front and back).
• Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (front and back).
• Social Security Card.
• Must be able to work day shift.
• Must meet all background check requirements.
• Setting in a school environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with children and educational staff.
• Physical ability to assist in therapy activities as needed.
