Pearce delivers technical maintenance, repair, operations, and engineering services for UPS systems, backup power generators, battery energy storage systems, critical cooling systems, and other electrical and mechanical infrastructure across markets such as renewable energy, telecom, and data centers. Overview Pearce is seeking experienced Commercial HVAC Technicians to join our team for servicing and repairing heavy commercial HVAC equipment. This is a fast‑paced, rewarding role best suited for individuals who are responsible, self‑directed, highly motivated, willing to travel, and looking to learn and grow in the HVAC industry. The position is regional and requires residence in the Sacramento, California area. Core Responsibilities Maintaining heavy commercial HVAC equipment including chillers, water‑cooled systems, reciprocating compressors, Liebert systems, controls, and multiple cooling systems. Diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, or replacing components of entire systems. Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance on split systems up to 20 tons. Performing additional maintenance or upgrades to out‑of‑season heavy commercial HVAC equipment. Responding to service calls in a timely manner, including emergency call‑out services. Timely and accurate completion of daily work reports. Operating and maintaining a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Employee Handbook and insurance requirements. Core Experience Must be Level 2 or Universal EPA Certified (Required). 10+ years of experience with commercial HVAC maintenance, repair, and servicing on equipment such as Liebert (Required). High level of knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components including refrigeration systems. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and by email. At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHAFCC/FAA/EPA Standards. Candidates should reside in the Sacramento, California area. Must be available for after‑hours and weekend call‑outs on occasion. Extensive daily travel in an independent work structure. Occasional overnights required—company pays all travel costs and provides $50 per diem per night. Driving to remote work sites as needed. Be exposed to ambient temperatures while working outdoors. Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds). May need to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical. Compensation & Benefits Compensation: $50.00–$60.00 hourly/DOE. Actual compensation is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and location. In addition to wages, employees may be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem or other applicable compensation.
