Job Overview The Assistant Project Manager is an entry‑level position that supports the Project Management team by learning and applying essential duties and responsibilities. The role involves managing project documentation, coordinating activities, and ensuring project quality and compliance. Responsibilities Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs (Request for Information), and meeting minutes. Oversee project activities assigned by the Project Manager, such as planning, coordinating, resolving problem areas, and ensuring all company/project policies, procedures, and standards are maintained. Maintain change‑order, submittal, and drawing control logs. Prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings. Ensure contract submittals are accurate and timely. Create and issue subcontractor contracts. Assemble and deliver the Owner and Maintenance Manuals. Follow the project quality‑control plan. Interact with subcontractors to obtain the correct documentation and drawings for the Owner and Maintenance Manuals. Keep the warranty log up to date. Attend company/project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, providing project management support. Assist field personnel assigned to the area of responsibility. Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress. Create Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files. Prepare price change orders, project reports, and documentation. Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information. Qualifications Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods. Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others. Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills. Strong attention to detail. Demonstrated excellence in organization and time‑management skills. Ability to identify and meet customers’ expectations and requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Oracle preferred. Prioritizes and manages multiple tasks and changing priorities. Works under pressure and adapts to changing requirements with a positive attitude. Strong oral and written communication skills. Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player. Effective professional interaction with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field. Minimum 1 year of experience in a construction‑related role, or a combination of training, education, and relevant work experience that is equivalent. Travel Up to 100% travel. Working Conditions Primary work environment is active construction sites. Activities include sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is typically low to medium. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. ADA compliant with reasonable accommodation measures for qualified disabled applicants and employees.
