Human Resources Coordinator

Our client, a logistics and supply chain company, is hiring a Part-Time Human Resources Coordinator to support day-to-day HR operations at their Oakland office. This role handles employee records, onboarding logistics, and general HR administration for a workforce of roughly 150 employees across warehouse and corporate staff.

The position requires someone comfortable working independently with sensitive information and coordinating across departments. Hours are flexible within standard business days, with the expectation of consistent weekly availability to support ongoing HR functions such as benefits enrollment periods and compliance reporting deadlines.

This is a good fit for someone with prior HR administrative experience who wants a part-time schedule while continuing to build HR generalist skills in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update employee personnel files and HRIS records
• Coordinate new hire onboarding paperwork and orientation scheduling
• Assist with benefits enrollment and open enrollment communications
• Track employee attendance, PTO requests, and leave documentation
• Prepare HR reports for management on headcount and turnover
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures
• Support compliance recordkeeping for I-9s and other required documents
• Assist with scheduling interviews and coordinating hiring paperwork

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in HR or business administration
• 2 years of experience in an HR administrative or coordinator role
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of basic California employment law preferred
• Reliable availability for a consistent part-time schedule
