Job Description

This role focuses on operating CNC milling and lathe machines to fabricate metal components from long metal extrusions according to detailed purchase orders and customer specifications. The CNC Operator reads and interprets work orders, selects and adjusts CNC programs via a computer interface, and ensures each part meets precise dimensional tolerances before releasing it to assembly.

Responsibilities

• Receive long metal extrusions as raw material and prepare them for CNC machining.
• Review purchase orders carefully to understand the requested product, verify all specifications, and identify any special or custom instructions.
• Use the CNC computer interface to select the correct product or program based on the purchase order requirements.
• Modify, add, or delete program instructions in the CNC interface to reflect any specific customer requests, such as custom drilling dimensions or other special features.
• Operate CNC milling and lathe machines, including elumatic and similar equipment, to fabricate components to the required specifications.
• Monitor the manufacturing process to ensure the machine runs correctly, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and accuracy.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating CNC machines.
• Hands-on experience with CNC machine operation, including mills and lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, specifications, and related documentation.
• Ability to measure finished parts accurately and verify dimensions against specifications.
• Experience using a CNC computer interface to select, run, and edit programs.
• Experience with CNC setup and basic interface control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with aluminum extrusion is a plus.
• Experience in window and door manufacturing or similar products is an advantage.
• Experience with elumatic CNC machines is beneficial.
• Exposure to CNC brands and technologies such as Haas is a plus.
• Experience with deburring operations and finishing processes.

Work Environment

The position is based in a manufacturing facility that operates as an open bay environment without air conditioning. You work primarily with CNC milling and lathe machines, including elumatic and similar equipment, handling metal extrusions and operating under tight tolerances. The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with Saturday work as needed to meet production demands. The environment is active and production-focused, with typical manufacturing noise levels and physical activity, and requires adherence to all safety and shop floor procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lakeland, FL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Lakeland,FL.
