Experienced Structures Mechanic - B-52 (2400)

Position Experienced Structures Mechanic – B‑52 (2400) Location and Work Environment San Antonio, TX – 100% onsite, variable shift work (scheduled/unscheduled overtime, weekends, holidays). Security Clearance Requires U.S. Secret clearance (interim and/or final). U.S. citizenship required. Responsibilities Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas. Locate blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure. Perform sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure in accordance with standard repair processes. Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modifications and repairs. Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot‑level modification and repair of structural parts. Apply aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replace components. Manage aircraft sheet‑metal/structural modification, repair, and determine functionality of basic electrical systems. Utilize aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensioners, sheet‑metal brakes and shears. Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests. Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work. Ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds. Ensure a safe working environment through Hazardous Energy and Lock Out / Tag systems applications. Basic Qualifications 10+ years of experience working with non‑porous metals (aluminum, titanium, stainless). 10+ years of experience with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures. 10+ years of experience using structural hand tools such as 45° and 90° drills, pancake adapters, counter‑sink cages, hole finders, and rivet guns. 10+ years of experience working heavy structures: locating, drilling, countersinking, and fastening structures (doublers, stringers, webs, seat tracks, etc.) to aircraft. Ability to work variable shifts (scheduled and unscheduled overtime; weekends and holidays) to support mission requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience with depot‑level/heavy structures maintenance. Experience with aircraft maintenance and operations. Ability to operate forklift, mobile crane, and riding‑type electric powered elevating equipment. Pay Starting Pay Rate: $78,000 per year ($37.50 per hour).
