Overview Food Service - Huck’s Market Assistant Manager at Huck’s Food and Fuel. Huck’s is a 100% employee-owned company focused on fast, friendly service and store cleanliness. Job Title Huck’s Market Assistant Manager Job Purpose The Assistant Manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to help increase store profitability and to assist the manager in management functions. The Assistant Manager must be willing to accept promotion and assume store manager responsibilities upon completion of training programs and when an opening is available. The option to relocate when there is an opening is negotiable. Job Duties and Responsibilities Gives customers prompt and courteous service, including greeting customers using the gasoline intercom and adhering to Best In Class standards. Observes shift operating hours and helps fill shifts as assigned by the Store Manager. Works the store manager’s days off and at least two evening shifts per week to support peak hours with strong performance. Performs tasks as assigned by the Store Manager and effectively communicates with store associates and management. Follows all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances pertaining to store operation. Provides a role model of conduct for other associates. Ensures the Store Manager is informed of all sales, cash, and operating discrepancies. Ensures all associates wear proper uniform and provide prompt, courteous customer service. Bookkeeping – Complete shift-change reports, clock hours, ring sales per policy, record over rings and refunds, and complete daily paperwork and deposits as directed. Human Resources – Treat all associates with dignity and respect; advise Store Manager of any personnel situations or policy violations affecting store performance. Security – Ensure shift procedures, safe shopping/working environment, secure handling of cash and merchandise, and vendor check-in procedures per policy. Merchandising – Keep coolers, drink boxes, shelves, and displays stocked; maintain equipment; prepare high-margin products as directed; apply correct pricing as listed in internal guides. Maintenance – Maintain store appearance to company standards; keep floors, windows, and parking lot clean; ensure restrooms and food service areas are clean and sanitary; report maintenance issues to the Store Manager. Safety – Enforce proper lifting procedures, ladder use, wet floor signage, and prompt accident reporting to the store manager and corporate office.
