Director, Technical Learning & Capability Development
Intuitive Surgical
Director leading global technical training and workforce capability development programs across manufacturing, MRO, logistics, and operations. Responsible for strategy, governance, and execution of standardized training, certification, and competency management systems to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and execution of training programs aligned with operations business priorities and global strategy
- Design technical training programs for technicians and material handlers with standardized onboarding and competency assessment
- Drive innovation in learning delivery through blended, digital, and experiential approaches
- Lead and develop team of training professionals while fostering continuous improvement culture
- Establish frameworks to measure learning effectiveness and demonstrate business impact using data
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Operations Management, or Supply Chain
- 12+ years leading technical training, workforce development, or manufacturing operations
- 5+ years managing managers and technical training organizations supporting large technical workforces
- Experience building and scaling workforce capability programs in complex technical environments
- Demonstrated competency in developing certification programs, skills matrices, and qualification systems
- Experience implementing learning management systems and workforce development platforms
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
