Respiratory Therapy - Registered Respiratory Therapist

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care across acute and critical care settings. This role delivers diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services in accordance with physician orders, department protocols, and state scope of practice. The therapist is an integral member of the multidisciplinary care team, supporting patients requiring invasive and noninvasive respiratory support while ensuring safe, effective, and timely care.

Requirements:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) / Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
  • Associate Degree or Vocational/Technical School graduate in Respiratory Care
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of start
  • Ability to work variable shifts with rotating weekends
  • Experience in acute care and high-acuity patient settings preferred

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing and documenting comprehensive respiratory assessments
  • Conducting diagnostic procedures to evaluate patient respiratory status and response to therapy
  • Administering treatments such as oxygen delivery, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy
  • Assisting with the placement and management of artificial airways
  • Initiating, monitoring, and maintaining invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation
  • Evaluating patient response and promptly intervening or notifying providers of adverse changes
  • Assisting with transport of ventilator-dependent patients
  • Responding to emergency situations to ensure airway stability and adequate ventilation during resuscitation
