Summary

The Behavior Specialist works directly with the Behaviorist, Psychologist, Manager/Assistant Manager/Staff to develop behavior interventions to ensure that the individuals are provided with the atmosphere and the skills necessary to perform to the best of their abilities in the community and the residential programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Evaluate behavioral issues for all individuals in assigned IRAs through observations, review of data collected and staff interviewing.
2. Assist in developing and implementing individual functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
3. Create program materials and ensure staff have access necessary materials to carry out behavior plans
4. Evaluate data at a minimum of every 6 months and update FBA?s and BIP?s
5. Conduct staff training for behavior plans, 6 month review of plans and behavior principles
6. Manage appropriate data for individuals, including creating data sheets as needed and training staff to assist in collecting data.
7. Attend scheduled meetings where Behavior Intervention Plans and other program issues will be reviewed (e.g., Team meetings, incident reviews, life planning meetings).
8. Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and Agency regulations and operating standards.
9. Adhere to mandatory reporting requirements and HIPAA laws.
10. Other duties as assigned.
