Ultrasonographer II — Per Diem Join the growing BILH team and make a difference in people’s lives. Days of the week vary; business operating hours are 7:00 am‑4:30 pm. Preferred Experience 2‑3 years of full‑time hospital experience. Experience with imaging in General, Breast, Breast Interventional, and OB areas. Job Description Perform a wide range of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and some vascular exams. Interact daily with patients and other medical personnel. Essential Responsibilities Review charts, select appropriate equipment and transducers for tests as ordered, interview patients, obtain necessary information, explain procedures, allay apprehensions, and position the patient appropriately. Record images on PACS, provide images on film and paper when needed, give preliminary interpretation, and convey it to the requesting physician after discussion with the radiologist. View screens, detect pathology or other factors, and determine images appropriate for diagnostic purpose. Perform routine clerical duties, answer phones, schedule patients, order supplies, distribute results, keep work area clean, and enter data in the computer. Perform high‑level disinfection of ultrasound intracavitary transducers in systems such as the Trophon EPR. Appropriate HLD is necessary for patient protection and infection control. Employees receive initial training and an annual refresher. Required Qualifications Vocational or technical training in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required. Associate’s degree in Ultrasound preferred. Registration with Reg Diagnostic Med Sonographer required; Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required. 0‑1 year related work experience required. New hires must provide BLS certification through the American Heart Association within 30 days. ARDMS certification in Abdominal and/or OB/GYN specialties required. Experience with computer systems required, including web‑based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access). Customer Service : Provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and external customers in a professional, service‑oriented, respectful manner. Physical Requirements Very heavy work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force continually. Employee is physically active in all elements of the job. Pay Range $48.00 – $71.33 per hour. The base hourly wage depends on seniority, education, training, experience, certifications, geography, job responsibilities, and other permissible factors.
