Position Overview

Seeking a Board Certified General Surgeon for short-term locum coverage to provide inpatient general surgery care and call coverage. This assignment is for physician leave coverage and does not include bariatric surgery responsibilities.

Compensation:

24 Hour On Call: $2025 per 24 hours
Call Back: $385/hr

Coverage Dates: August 3 4, 2026
Two-day assignment
Beeper/phone call coverage
Average callback: Approximately 3 4 hours, depending on surgical volume
Practice Setting
Acute Care Hospital
Inpatient only
Non-trauma center
Responsibilities
Provide inpatient general surgery coverage
Perform routine general surgery procedures
Respond to general surgery call
No bariatric call or bariatric patient care
Practice Details
Adult patient population
Approximately 3 4 inpatients per day
EMR
Epic
Requirements
Board Certified in General Surgery
Active Virginia license
ACLS certification
Clean malpractice, background, and license history
Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation
Additional Information
Temporary privileges are available for qualified candidates due to the short notice of the assignment.
Travel reimbursement is available in accordance with facility guidelines.
