OTTO's Opportunity Electrical Engineer II – Communications OTTO's Opportunity: Our Electrical Engineer II will design circuitry for Communications and Power Management products, working from concept through production development and supporting the technical resolution of field and production issues. Prior experience in portable (battery powered), analog, audio, and digital circuitry is desired. The role requires a maximum of 40% supervision. Responsibilities Analog/Digital circuit design, prototyping, and performance evaluation to meet customer and/or internal specifications. Component specification and selection. Generate schematics, bills-of-material (BOMs), and provide PCB layout guidance. Evaluate and document product performance against customer specifications. Provide technical sales support. Determine production test requirements and assist production in validating test equipment. Support existing products and coordinate with Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales. Maintain required engineering documentation: schematics, BOMs, ECN's, drawings, layouts. Assist with other related duties as required or assigned. Qualifications BSEE or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience in concept‑through‑production product development. Experience with audio and analog circuit design (OpAmps, filters, transistor circuitry, codecs, power supplies, etc.). Experience with digital and microprocessor circuit design. Prior experience with portable (battery operated) products is a plus. Experience with schematic entry (Altium experience is a plus). Some embedded coding experience is a plus. Experience with EMC, ESD compliance, and intrinsically safe (UL, ATEX, FM) circuits is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Self‑motivated, proactive, and detail oriented. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to complete work, communicate status, and resolve issues in a timely manner. Compensation and Benefits Target base salary hiring range: $75,000 to $85,000, based on qualifications and experience. Profit‑sharing bonus: distributed twice a year at the discretion of the company.
