Job Title: Registered Nurse I Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: Direct Hire Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1-2 years of Direct Labor and Delivery experience required License: Valid multi-state or state Registered Nurse License Certifications: Not applicable Must-Have: - Completion of the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing. - Holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree in nursing. Description: The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. Utilizes the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies and procedures. Monitors and evaluates patient functional status. Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients. Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care considering age, cultural, and psychosocial factors. Documents steps of the nursing process accurately. Utilizes proper medical terminology. Addresses problems and tracks progress toward goals. Facilitates patient discharge through timely and appropriate referrals. Utilizes patient education resources suitable for patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attends in-services and meets unit education standards. Completes variance reports as needed. Demonstrates independent judgment in making decisions from various alternatives. Coordinates activities of others without direct supervision. Leads others in similar work performed without direct supervision. Works directly with patients and customers. Engages with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Interacts with external customers via telephone or in-person. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff. Frequently works with individuals at the Director level or above. Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently. Detail-oriented in examination of clinical and numerical data.
