To apply, visit communionproject.org/job-openings Director of Programs and Operations Reports To: Co-Director Hours: Full Time Location: In-person/hybrid in Washington, DC Salary: $75,000-$90,000 Position Summary The Director of Programs and Operations is responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of The Communion Project. This role translates strategic vision into executable plans, oversees programs and convenings, supports overall content development, and coordinates partnerships and grant reporting. The Program Director serves as the operational backbone of the project, working closely with the Communications Manager and the Directors. Key Responsibilities Programs and Content

• Coordinate presentations, programs, and trainings for clergy and lay leaders
• Collaborate with partners to adapt and run workshops and programs
• Support the content development of programs, resources, articles, and digital content

Project Planning & Execution

• Manage implementation and reporting of CP's five-year grant-funded project plan, annual goals, and quarterly milestones
• Develop work plans, timelines, and task tracking across all program areas
• Monitor progress, flag risks, and support adaptive planning

Operations & Coordination

• Coordinate logistics for conferences, convenings, retreats, pilgrimages, trainings, and workshops
• Schedule and support internal meetings, partner meetings, and Advisory Board gatherings
• Manage facilitators, consultants, and contracted partners

Partner & Stakeholder Engagement

• Grow a network of partnerships and collaborations with a diverse group of dioceses, religious communities, and organizations
• Develop and manage the Communion Project's Partnership Program
• Host ongoing partner zoom calls to promote network-building among Catholic organizations

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic in good standing
• Personal commitment to unity, dialogue, and bridgebuilding
• Thorough understanding of Catholic theology, ministry, and catechesis
• Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree in pastoral ministry, theology or related field preferred)
• 5+years of project or project management experience (nonprofit, faith-based, or educational settings preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects
• Experience writing or editing content (articles, resources, or digital communications) in a nonprofit or ministry setting
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
