§ Title: Senior Counsel – Energy Infrastructure & Regulatory Mandates

Practice Area: Power Supply Negotiation / FERC Regulatory Advocacy / Data Center Infrastructure

§ Location: Washington, D.C.

§ Salary: $390,000 to $435,000 Base Salary (Plus a comprehensive suite of benefits including healthcare, retirement plans, parental leave, and performance-based discretionary bonuses)

§ Schedule: Full-time, Direct-Hire, Minimum 1,850 hours annual billed

§ Duties:

The Senior Energy Associate will serve as a lead advisor within a specialized group focusing on the critical nexus of data center development and power grid integration. This role requires a sophisticated blend of transactional drafting and administrative litigation.

Core responsibilities include:

⨖ Negotiating complex power supply and infrastructure agreements for massive data center developments, renewable energy sites, and thermal power facilities.

⨖ Representing a diverse client roster—including private equity sponsors, independent transmission companies, and public utilities—in high-stakes proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and various state utility commissions.

⨖ Drafting persuasive pleadings, appellate briefs, and policy-oriented advocacy documents to navigate evolving energy regulations and Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) protocols.

⨖ Providing mission-critical regulatory support for large-scale M&A, project finance, and private equity transactions within the energy sector.

⨖ Orchestrating administrative hearings, including the preparation of expert witness testimony and the management of complex settlement negotiations.

⨖ Advising on the development and regulatory compliance of energy infrastructure, including LNG export terminals, oil and gas pipelines, and advanced nuclear power generation.

§ Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate an elite level of expertise in energy law and a readiness to manage sophisticated client relationships independently.

⨖ Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with an exemplary academic record.

⨖ Active Bar Membership in the District of Columbia, or the ability to waive in immediately.

⨖ Six (6) to Eight (8) years of substantive legal experience concentrated in energy regulatory or energy transactional law.

⨖ Proven experience appearing before FERC or state utility commissions.

⨖ Demonstrated history of drafting complex contractual instruments and administrative filings within the energy or infrastructure space.

Beyond the minimum requirements, the ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

⨖ Prior experience specifically tailored to the energy demands and regulatory hurdles of large-scale Data Center developers.

⨖ Exceptional ability to synthesize complex technical data from engineering and economic experts into compelling legal arguments.

⨖ A highly collegial professional demeanor with a desire to engage in active, in-office mentorship and team-building.

⨖ Advanced understanding of RTO/ISO market rules and their impact on project development and transmission rights.
