Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients of all ages using a mix of standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that cater to immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focused on enhancing communication skills, fluency, voice quality, and safe swallowing practices.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and caregivers, to develop holistic care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources and guidance to patients and families for effective practice outside of therapy.
  • Participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout patient recovery.
  • Document patient progress accurately and promptly in line with all regulatory standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment techniques across various age groups and a solid understanding of developmental and acquired communication disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and team members.
  • Skill in modifying therapeutic approaches to suit diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
