About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Locums Family Medicine Physician to provide outpatient primary care coverage in Anchorage, Alaska. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician passionate about value-based care and delivering comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare in a collaborative outpatient practice.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing adult and family medicine patients while focusing on preventive care, chronic disease management, and quality outcomes.

Assignment Details

• Practice Setting: 100% Outpatient Primary Care

• Schedule: Full time coverage

• No inpatient responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan.

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.

• Perform preventive health screenings and annual wellness visits.

• Develop individualized treatment plans with an emphasis on value-based care and quality metrics.

• Coordinate care with specialists and other members of the healthcare team.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

• Ensure appropriate coding and documentation, including Medicare Advantage and HCC requirements.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

• Completion of an accredited Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency (Family Medicine preferred).

• Board Certified in Family Medicine (ABFM) or Internal Medicine (ABIM), or AOA equivalent.

• Minimum of 3 years of primary care experience.

• Active, unrestricted Alaska medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start).

• Current DEA registration.

• Experience with electronic medical records; NextGen experience preferred.

• Experience with value-based care, Medicare Advantage, HCC coding, and quality documentation preferred.
