As a national leader in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and materials testing and inspection, we collaborate on transformative projects across transportation, energy, water, healthcare, and more.Position OverviewThe Project Engineer II is responsible for leading technical aspects of engineering projects, overseeing field activities, and managing client deliverables. This role independently performs calculations, reviews designs, prepares complex reports, and contributes to project planning. The Project Engineer II may also guide junior staff and interface directly with clients and regulatory agencies.ResponsibilitiesIndependently execute engineering designs, studies, and technical calculations.Manage portions of projects or small projects from scoping through final deliverablesReview and develop technical specifications, construction documents, and cost estimates.Conduct and oversee field investigations, construction monitoring, and data analysis.Evaluate and mitigate project risks; contribute to QA/QC processes.Mentor junior engineers and review their work for accuracy and completenessServe as a technical liaison with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agenciesSupport proposal development and provide input on scopes, schedules, and budgetsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil, Construction, or Geotechnical Engineering.5+ years of progressive engineering experienceProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license required.Valid driver's license and clean driving record; travel as neededProficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar) and project documentation toolsSolid knowledge of industry regulations, construction practices, and risk managementEffective communication and leadership skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.Travel RequirementsThis position requires moderate travel, approximately up to 40% of the time, in support of business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments.
