Video Editor

smartdept. is searching for a Video Editor for a growth and transformation consultancy serving ecommerce, retail, and DTC brands. This is a fully remote, ongoing freelance contract opportunity.
You'll edit short-form video and motion for paid social, working with a senior creative lead on brands that test a lot of video. What You'll Do:- Cut paid social ad assets in 6, 15, and 30 second lengths
- Edit for vertical, square, and horizontal placements
- Create motion graphics and animate static ads
- Produce explainer videos as needed
- Build multiple versions of ads for testing
- Add captions, music, and graphics, and deliver organized files
- Hands-on experience editing short-form video for paid social
- Strong skills in Premiere Pro or a similar editing tool
- Motion design skills in After Effects
- An eye for hooks and pacing that keep viewers watching
- A reel or portfolio showing ad and social work
- Ability to work fast and turn around versions quickly
- Clear, reliable communication
- TikTok, Reels, and UGC-style editing
- Ad work for ecommerce or consumer product brands
- AI video and editing tools
- Figma
