Process Control Intern for the Summer of 2027

We are seeking a Process Control Intern for the summer of 2027 at Minnesota Ore Operations. This is a temporary full-time position. The Internship affords the opportunity to apply educational experiences to real world process control applications. Experiences are offered that encompass both existing system maintenance / enhancements, as well as ground up design, development and installation of new systems and processes, focused on productivity and quality improvements. Strong mentoring by seasoned Process Control Engineers ensures a mutually beneficial work experience.

We will be hiring one intern for our Minntac location (Mountain Iron).

This is a safety sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to assisting with the following:

• Foster a safe working environment.
• Learn mining operations.
• The position will involve creating and maintaining web-based computer programs utilizing, C#, Python, and SQL.
• This position will involve installation, configuration, and support of mobile Windows clients installed on remote equipment.
• Responsibilities will also include basic networking configuration of various systems.
• The applicant will also help support and configure 3rd party server software on Windows Server based OS's.
• Applicant must have good communication skills to work with both on-site personnel and 3rd party vendor systems for support.
• The applicant will translate business requirements into industrial solutions and interact with personnel throughout the organization both as an individual and in a team environment.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree. Prefer candidates pursuing degrees in; Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Candidates must be a current student and have completed their sophomore year by June 2027 and be in good academic standing.
• Must have at least a 2.75 GPA, will accept 2.5 with experience.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Rate: $23.50 – 25.50/hr. This base salary range is a good faith estimate. Based on candidate skills/experience the final offer may be lower/higher.
