The ideal candidate will have strong pharmacy knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with pharmacists and healthcare providers.Roles and responsibilities include:Serves as the on-site liaison between clinic staff and the partnering pharmacyCoordinates medication-related inquiries from providers, nurses, and clinical staffFacilitates prescription processing communication and clarification requestsAssists with resolving medication access barriers, refill coordination, and delivery logisticsManages and tracks prior authorization (PA) submissions, follow-ups, approvals, and denialsCoordinates appeals for denied prior authorizations when appropriateOversees and manages Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs), including enrollment, renewals, documentation collection, and follow-upCommunicates with pharmaceutical manufacturers and third-party vendors regarding patient assistance eligibility and statusEnsures required documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely mannerMaintains tracking logs for PA and PAP activities to ensure accountability and reportingFills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacyPrepares prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacistLabels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labelsParticipates in the periodic inventory of the pharmacyChecks drugs and supplies, inventory counts, stock shelves and remove out-of-date items from the inventoryCommunicates in-person or on the phone with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional mannerMaintains equipment cleanliness and clutter free environment in pharmacyAssists in the training of new employeesCompletes adherence and prescription pick up callsAddresses all patient concerns and needs in professional mannerAttends designated departmental meeting as requested by pharmacist-in-chargePerforms other tasks or duties as requestedExperience / License:Must be registered with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy and maintain active licenseMinimum of two (3) years experience in retail or clinic-based pharmacyLocal candidate residing in or near Keokuk, IA
