Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced food production facility. This position has a strong emphasis on electrical troubleshooting, repair, and Allen-Bradley (AB) Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

Job Description

• Perform electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of production equipment, control panels, motors, sensors, and power distribution systems.
• Install, configure, program, parameterize, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley VFDs, including PowerFlex series and similar drives.
  
• Diagnose VFD faults and replace or repair drives supporting conveyors, shredders/dicers, Fanuc robots, and Matrix VFFS packaging equipment.
  
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and electromechanical systems.
  
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC ladder logic, and technical manuals.
  
• Troubleshoot and maintain three-phase electrical systems, motor controls, sensors, PLCs, and industrial control equipment.
  
• Support mechanical maintenance activities, including work on bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, and pneumatic systems.
  
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns in a high-volume production environment and restore equipment to safe and reliable operation.
  
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc-flash safety, and food-safety and sanitation requirements.
  
• Accurately document work orders, parts usage, repairs, inspections, and other maintenance activities.
  
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and sanitation teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility standards.

Skills Required

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and working with Allen-Bradley VFDs, particularly PowerFlex 525 or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of: Three-phase electrical power, Motor controls, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), PLCs, preferably Allen-Bradley, Sensors, Basic industrial control systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency using electrical diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, clamp meters, and related tools.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout, electrical safety, arc-flash awareness, and general industrial safety practices.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, trade school, or electrical/industrial maintenance certification preferred.
• Ability to work in a food production environment, including wet conditions and temperature extremes.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in food or beverage manufacturing.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, or MicroLogix.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley programming and control software.
• Experience using CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience troubleshooting automated production and packaging equipment.
• Industrial electrical, automation, robotics, or electromechanical maintenance experience.

Education

• High School Diploma/GED

• Steel - Toe Shoes/Boots Required
• 2nd Shift: 3pm - 11pm

Pay Rate

• $25 - $35 p er hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
