CSU/SRT Director

Position Summary:The Director of Inpatient Services is responsible for the clinical and operational oversight of the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), Detox/Addictions Receiving Facility, and Short-Term Residential Treatment (SRT). The Director provides leadership to nursing and support staff while ensuring safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant operations. Working collaboratively with the Medical Director, psychiatrists, PMHNPs, Area Director, and interdisciplinary leadership team, the Director oversees nursing practice, staffing, quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory readiness, staff development, and daily inpatient operations.Essential Job Functions:Oversee daily operation sor CSU/ Detox and Short-Term Residential operations.Collaborate with psychiatric providers regarding co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions.Ensure all documentation meets agency, regulatory, and funding source requirement including but not limited to: AHCA, Baker Act, Florida Administrative Code, DCF, DEA medication security, CMS when applicable, OSHA, HIPAA, CARF.Communicate significant medical findings directly to the Medical Director.Provide operational leadership for the inpatient programs.Operate within approved program budget.Review incident reports, client grievances, and ensure follow-up per agency protocol.Report safety issues, maintenance needs, and all unusual occurrences promptly.Perform or delegate duties of the designated Safety Officer.Work collaboratively with the Medical Director.Approve purchase orders for supplies and equipment within budget and agency guidelines.Ensure compliance with WestCare/TVS policies, CARF standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.Develop and oversee corrective or action plans as needed.Provide daily supervision, direction, and support to RNs, BHTs, Discharge Planner, and LPN.Work closely with Nurse administrator.Conduct regular staff meetings and maintain minutes and attendance records.Ensure thorough onboarding and policy orientation for all new employees.Ensure all inpatient staff maintain current TACT and CPR certification.Implement staff development and training plans based on identified needs.Ensure appropriate staffing coverage and prepare/approve staff schedules.Support staff in crisis situations and ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices.Serve as a resource to staff on clinical, medical, operational, and procedural issues.Participate in the Village Leadership Team as an active member.Attend outside meetings and represent WestCare/ TVS as assigned.Support implementation of Comprehensive, Continuous, Behavioral Health Care model and CCBHCMonitor compliance with all licensure, certification, and accreditation requirements.Ensure documentation meets TVS and funding-source standards.Develop and implement procedures to optimize client and staff safety.Contribute to annual budget development.Oversee clinical record retention and proper disposition of program documents.Respond promptly to phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.Complete and maintain the provider schedule.Work directly with the Discharge Planner to ensure timely and clinically appropriate discharge transitions.Serve as a liaison with community agencies in a professional manner.Ensures nursing care meets evidence-based standardsReviews nursing documentation for quality and complianceOversees medication administration practicesMonitors infection prevention practicesEnsures implementation of physician and PMHNP ordersSupports multidisciplinary treatment planningMonitor, analyze, and report on quality indicators to support organizational performance and regulatory compliance.Review and evaluate adverse events, restraint and seclusion data, falls, and medication variances to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.Conduct or participate in root cause analyses for significant incidents and quality concerns.Develop, implement, and monitor corrective action plans to address identified performance gaps.Lead and support quality improvement initiatives designed to enhance patient safety, clinical outcomes, and operational effectiveness.Participate in or facilitate Performance Improvement Committee meetings and other quality management committees, providing data analysis and recommendations for continuous improvement.Maintain high standards of clinical care and promote a safe, therapeutic environment.Understanding of issues related to individuals with varied identities in prevention, intervention and treatmentUnderstands that individuals with distinct community backgrounds have different perceptions of healthDemonstrates respect for individuals with Qualifications:Certifications/Licensures:Current Florida Registered Nurse license.Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license (Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric APRN) Preference will be given to those candidates who are currently licensed.Certified in CPR, First Aid, and TACTEducation:Masters Level degree from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, nursing or related field is requiredExperience and Competencies:CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis test.Six years of nursing experience, two of which must be in psychiatric nursingOne year of nursing supervisory experienceExperience in inpatient behavioral health strongly preferredAbility to meet requirements of DCF/Department of Corrections background checkEmotional stability to function effectively under stressful conditionsAbility to manage competing demands and maintain workflow efficiencyStrong organizational skills and ability to adapt to new routines, procedures, and tasksAbility to function effectively as both team member and team leaderCompetence in handling complex assignments and
