RN - PCU

PCU Registered Nurse (RN)

This is a 13-week contract position.

3x12 Night Shift (19:00 - 07:30)

We are seeking a qualified and motivated PCU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our nursing team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care in a stepdown unit from ICU, managing a variety of patient populations across multiple disciplines. This role includes collaborating with a Virtual Nursing Model, providing bedside care, and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care in a stepdown unit with a 1:4 RN ratio.
• Conduct assessments, initiate treatment plans, and provide patient education.
• Coordinate discharge planning with virtual and bedside nursing staff.
• Monitor patients with a variety of conditions, including cardiac and respiratory issues.
• Utilize critical care skills and technology to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in Alaska is required to be considered for auto offer.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a stepdown or ICU setting.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
• Strong skills in patient telemetry and monitoring.
