Assembler - 2nd Shift

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Assembler in Owego, NY for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role involves performing a variety of production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies, ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive tasks. You will work from diagrams and drawings to build, test, and inspect components in a production environment.

Required Skills

• Experience performing assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical components
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams and technical drawings
• Experience using hand tools and/or power tools
• Ability to perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies
• Experience conducting quality inspections in accordance with specifications
• Ability to disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble assemblies as needed
• Ability to work with both repetitive and non-repetitive tasks in a production setting

What You'll Do

• Assemble modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables based on diagrams and drawings
• Perform initial layouts and follow detailed assembly instructions
• Use hand and power tools to complete assembly tasks
• Conduct continuity checks and ensure functionality of completed work
• Perform quality inspections according to defined specifications
• Disassemble and rework assemblies as needed to meet requirements
• Support testing of experimental or prototype assemblies under simulated conditions
