Our Construction Management Group is growing! GHD is looking for a Construction Engineer with proven on time and budget delivery capabilities. You will provide GHD’s construction phase support services to new and existing clients on multiple simultaneous projects with a construction value of up to $10M each. This position can be located in the following Northern California offices Redding, Concord, Oakland, Santa Rosa, CA. Join us in the office three days a week to contribute, connect and excel in our vibrant environment.Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:Providing construction management and office engineering support for our water projects (i.e. pumping stations, pipelines, treatment facilities, etc.), transportation projects (roads, trails, traffic improvements), as well as coastal, environmental, energy projects throughout the region. In addition to supporting during construction phase, contributions will include involvement in the planning, permitting, design, and procurement.Collaborate and support project oversight by maintaining communications between project teams, clients and contractors to deliver projects safely, on time, at or under budget, and to the client’s expected standard of qualitySupport strong client relationshipsCoordinate input concerning constructability and biddability during design and develop project construction schedules and estimates based on risk evaluation, and coordinate advice on delivery methodSupport the development, review, and tracking of contract documents and status reports relative to schedule, cost, and staffing and other related construction contract requirementsSupport the oversight of contractor’s compliance with project permits, design specifications, and drawingsCoordinate pay estimates; coordinate appropriate recommendations to client on payment issuesCollaborate with Program Management Office, manage document control including processing project correspondence, documents, and drawings; preparation of various technical reportsCoordinate appropriate responses and/or recommendations on construction issues; consult with construction management and engineering staff on technical mattersSupport the review, documentation, and negotiation of Construction Change Documents, Change Orders and dispute resolution on behalf of the client and coordinating with the Construction Manager and Design Engineer, as requiredConduct and coordinate project closeout activitiesSupport the coordination of equipment and process startup, testing, and optimizationSupport management of the financial performance of our consulting services contract, including invoicing, budget tracking, progress reporting, and change managementEducation:Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and management experienceWhat you will bring to the team:Minimum 3 years of experience in construction-related field experienceCurrent Engineer-In-Training (EIT) preferredExperience with web-based document management systems and MS Office SuiteTake on some of the world’s toughest challenges - with everyone at GHD backing you every step of the way.
