Trade Compliance Specialist

HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for ECCN and HTS classification of technology products and export license determination while ensuring compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations

This is a hybrid position based near Irvine, CA.

EXPECTATIONS

· Review product information to assign ECCN classifications using the Commerce Control List
· Determine HTS classifications across multiple country tariffs for technology products
· Determine export license requirements for hardware, software, technology, and services
· Research classification and encryption level using CCL and CROSS rulings, requesting CCATS
· Validate and maintain ECCN and HTS classifications in ERP systems and tools
· Manage vendor classification price lists, complete analysis, and prepare upload files
· Identify and resolve compliance holds to meet department SLAs
· Create and maintain SOPs, process flows, and FAQs
· Conduct compliance audits and prepare regulatory reporting
· Prepare metrics, KPIs, and reporting on classification activity and trends

ESSENTIALS

· 3+ years of trade compliance experience, focused on classification, technology industry a plus
· Bachelor's degree required
· Working knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
· Demonstrated proficiency in ECCN classification, with emphasis on encryption technology
· Demonstrated proficiency in HTS classification across multiple country tariffs
· Intermediate MS Excel proficiency including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
· Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
· Experience with SAP GTS a plus
