Job Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Shift: Day 3x12-Hour
Hours per Shift: 12
Experience: 4 years preferred; open to candidates with 2+ years of experience
License: VA State License preferred, can submit with pending license and obtain a temporary license before start
Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS, ACCS preferred


Must-Have:
RRT certification and BLS required
Minimum of 4 years of experience preferred; candidates with 2+ years will be considered
Ability to float between sections as needed


Description:
The position involves working in the Respiratory department.
Every other weekend shifts are required.
Candidates must have strong communication and critical thinking skills.
The role demands proactive engagement and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
The practice involves managing adult and geriatric patient populations.
Responsibilities include administering aerosol treatments, managing ventilators, and performing chest physiotherapy.
Candidates should be skilled in interpreting arterial blood gases and assisting with intubation.
Knowledge of high-flow nasal cannula and various respiratory therapies is essential.
The work environment is fast-paced, and staff should be prepared to adapt to changing patient needs.
Travelers should confirm any requested time off prior to acceptance.
References will be required to ensure candidate suitability.
Candidates must ensure compliance with all certification and experience requirements.
