Must be available to perform coaching responsibilities, games and practices outside of your contractualday.(Dailycontractualhourswillnotbemodifiedtoaccommodatecoachingschedule.) Basketball coaching experience preferred. Basketball knowledge and playing experience. UnderstandingofMichiganHighSchoolAthleticAssociationrulesandregulations. Abilitytocommunicateandworkwell withhighschool students. Abilitytocommunicateandworkwellwithparents,BoosterClubandthecommunity. Michigan Certified Teacher, preferred. Responsibilities Counselstudents/athletesabout scholarships andtheimportanceofgrades. Expose students/athletes to surrounding colleges. Monitorgrades ofstudents /athletesintheBasketball program. Maintainacademiceligibilitylogforstudentathleteparticipation. Assistwiththeimplementationofacademicinterventionstrategiesforstudentathletesto maintain academic performance and eligibility standards. Adheretoacademiceligibilityforstudentathleteparticipationingames,conferencesand tournaments. MeetwithparentsofTeammembers,priortothestartof season. Buildsstrongrelationshipswithparentsandtheschoolcommunitytodevelopaculture. for academic accomplishment aligned with athletic achievement. Responsibleforthepreparationandsubmittal of a yearly budget and bids to order necessary equipment. Assisttrackteaminmakingdecisions,planningeventsandimplementingplans. CoordinatewiththeTrackCoachingStaff,apracticescheduleandadheretothepractice schedule for the entire season. Teachandcoachstudentathletesinthetechniquesandskillsneededtoensureasuccessful track program. Beapositiverolemodelandmotivator. Encouragestudentathletestobestudentrolemodelsinthebuilding;assistbuildingin establishing Positive Behavior and Intervention Support programming. AttendallmeetingsasrequiredbytheMHSAAandWWAC League. Excellenttimemanagement,communicationandorganizationalskills. Abilitytointeractpositivelywithstudents,staffandparents. Skilledincollaboratingwithotherprofessionals. Complywithdistrictpoliciesandprocedures(i.e.,academiceligibilityofstudentathletes,accident reporting, cash handling, travel and transportation requests, parent / assistant / volunteer approval and authorization procedures, etc.). Abilitytoworkwithminimal supervision. Otherduties,withintheathleticdepartment,astheyrelatetothesport.
