Senior Claims Adjuster

Location: Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Washington DC, Hoboken, New York, Charlotte, Boston, Austin, Tallahassee, Philadelphia, San Francisco. The opportunity We are seeking an experienced insurance claims professional to join our practice. You will work alongside forensic accountants, valuation professionals, attorneys, risk managers, brokers, and insurers to quantify complex insurance claims and support policyholders throughout the claims process. This position offers exposure to some of the largest and most complex claims arising from hurricanes, wildfires, cyber incidents, operational disruptions, construction losses, and other catastrophic events. Your Key Responsibilities In this role, you will support the analysis, preparation, and management of complex commercial insurance claims arising from property damage, business interruption, cyber incidents, construction losses, and other operational disruptions. You will work closely with clients, brokers, insurers, adjusters, attorneys, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and evaluate claim‑related information, assess financial impacts, and develop well‑supported claim submissions. This role will allow you to leverage your technical skills to creatively assess and resolve our clients’ needs from the front lines. Travel and presence at client sites, along with in‑office presence, will be required. Skills and Attributes for Success Take responsibility for high‑quality execution and delivery of specific parts of the engagement Demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills Develop yourself and others through seeking and offering on‑the‑job coaching Use technology to continually learn and share your knowledge with other team members Maintain a strong focus on the client and be responsive to their requests Develop relationships with client and other stakeholder personnel Work effectively with teams of varying sizes Qualifications Must have A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics 2+ years working for an accounting or consulting firm in forensic accounting or dispute & damages Achieved, or be working toward a professional designation, such as CPA, CFE or CFF Effective organization and time management skills and the ability to prioritize when working on multiple engagements Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint Ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites; a driver’s license is strongly recommended Ideally you will have 2+ years in calculating business interruption losses for policy holders Experience in manufacturing, real estate, healthcare, hospitality, energy, infrastructure, or transportation industries Experience with large commercial property losses Experience working with Fortune 500 companies What We Look For We are looking for passionate leaders who are eager to assist organizations during their most critical times. Comprehensive compensation and benefits package with base salary ranging from $84,700 to $139,800 across the U.S. (higher ranges in NY, Washington State, and California). Salary determined by various factors. Medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and paid time off. Hybrid model: most external roles work in person 40–60% of the time.
