Reporting to the Director, Donor Relations & Stewardship, the Associate Director, Stewardship will contribute to a comprehensive stewardship program to help cultivate, recognize and steward Kellogg alumni and friends. This position will play an integral role on the Kellogg Advancement team to help the school to continue to cultivate and steward its alumni and friend’s constituency. The Associate Director ensures all significant donors are being stewarded in an appropriate and timely manner. Primary Responsibilities Include Manages and leads the reporting of all endowed and expendable funds for donor stewardship. Works with faculty and other areas to secure content needed. Collaborates with admissions/financial aid and finance to support the scholarship work. Fund management: Strengthen process in the creation of new funds and documenting information to support reporting and research on older funds. Donor Recognition: Responsible for donor recognition and managing all aspects of this important work. Projects include the review of gift agreements, developing and maintaining honor rolls and donor walls, and oversight of plaques/named space recognition. Ensure that donors are being recognized per their preferences. Leads partnership with the Assistant Director of Donor Relations on donor outreach, rendering requests, etc. Coordinates and supports communications to donor families for Investiture Ceremonies and collaborate with Faculty Affairs who leads the events. Develop appropriate infrastructures, systems and materials as required Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship Specific Responsibilities Strategic Planning Gathers data and develops strategies designed to realize the current and life-time giving potential of individual prospects. Maintains consistent and appropriate contact. Ensures effective stewardship. Collaboration Involves moderate-to-high-level of collaboration with both internal department partners and moderate level of collaboration with broader University partners to identify & integrate resources in order to accomplish strategic goals & objectives. Partner with gift officers, faculty, key leaders and the dean’s office Liaison with design team Collaborate with special events and facilities Communicate with students, faculty and staff to gather information and impact stories for stewardship reports Prospects & Gifts Develops, plans & implements personalized stewardship strategies, goals & approach for more complex, key or high-profile donors. Works with other areas of development to coordinate contacts. Events Creates donor centric event materials, including programs and other collateral materials. Administration Manages stewardship activities developed and implemented for client groups including tracking all contact in databases. Reviews use of database and recommends changes to create a system of prompts and reminders to ensure timely and appropriate activity. Obtains information for and drafts stewardship reports to individual donors of endowed funds, major capital gifts, key corporations, foundations, Board of Trustees members, etc. Manages other stewardship correspondence as needed including items such as acknowledgment letters, holiday cards, plaques and signage, and gift selection. May work with vendors to secure donor recognition items. Budget Track expenses and work with our finance partners Supervisory May supervise 1-2 staff, temporary staff, student workers &/or provide work direction. May provide training to staff within or outside of immediate dept or division in regard to function. Miscellaneous Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree 3-5 years’ experience in related setting, preferably in an educational setting and/or in fundraising Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively with other staff and volunteers. Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Detail oriented. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational and creative skills. Computer skills, proficiency in working with Microsoft Office Suite. Proven ability to work discreetly with sensitive and confidential information Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.) Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
